"Siena #1" Painting Canvas Print 18x24

In 2011, I had taken a picture of a street in Siena Italy and like the photo so much I never felt the need to paint a version of it. That feeling changed over time as an inner voice urged me to create a piece that conveyed the light vs dark and sense of scale.

Typically I paint abstracts with the intent to convey a feel or emotion. I will forego detail to reinforce that feel. Interestingly the more detail that is added, the less "feel" is retained.I finished the acrylic on canvas painting in 2023 and was so satisfied with the result that I went on to paint a much larger version a couple months later.

The original is currently available for sale. These canvas prints are limited to just 150 units.
