"Portal #1" Original Oil Painting 24x36

After years of painting in acrylics, I had begun delving into oils and was eager to create an abstract using the medium. My father had suggested the idea of a portal and while he had imagined a view from the outside looking into a portal, I envisioned the perspective of the inside looking out. Starting with just blues and yellows that would blend to greens, I wanted to convey swirling colors with a view to the other side. With most of the painting done, I saw the blue-green swirls and it just made think of ocean and a surfer seemed the perfect fit. I could see this on the wall at a beach house or even anyone that's sat on a board waiting for the perfect wave.

The piece is 24"w x 36"h (61x91cm), 1.5" (4cm) deep, oil on canvas, sides painted. Signed lower right. Not ready to hang. Painting will be packed by artist and shipped free to customer.
